An artistic study of Arabic novel through the writings of Lamine Saidi,the Tunisian novelist .

Inspite of being the most intricate literary genre,writing novels gives the novelist a wide opportunity to express himself and write all that he believes must be said.Infact,he makes his characters dive in adventures through his deep fantacy… Therefore we shall talk about the artistic aspect in the Arabic novel through the writings of Lamine Saidi who is lately recognized as one of the best Arab novelists.Actually,his novels not only have been studied by many critics but also most of them confirm that Lamine Saidi is a pioneer in Realistic Literature in recent years.His released four novels are”Hustle of The Sightless”2018, “The Last Exile”2020,”The Thorn Shadow” 2020 and “The Women’s City”2021. His first novel has constantly attracted the Arab literary critics owing to the uniqueness of its style,language and plot .The style in “Hustle of the Sightless” is plain and far from being elitist and intricate as many novelists are doing,which discourages people to read their complicated writings.”Hustle of the Sightless” is also deep in thoughts .Hence, it is a mixture of both romanticism and realism in which all the characters seek to be heroes.Besides,events accumulate increasingly to reveal the real conflicts in the Arab societies,and individual and community alienation as far as sex ,politics and religion are concerned.Ultimately,human values pervade in “Hustle of the Sightless” as the scholar plays a crucial role in reforming society.This tempts us to deeply study the artistic aspect of thought and the ways the novelist sets it.
However, his novel”The Last Exile” is mainly cognitive since it focuses on beauty through the character’s mind ,through space ,time ,style,language and plot.Thus, justice and equality triumph for the virtues are innately born with Man rather than evils.Indeed,the scholar in “The Last Exile” becomes powerful thanks to his practical political programme.Therefore, the artistic feature in this novel is narrating events skillfully using all the storytelling types,which urges the reader to be adherent to the novelist’s thought.
As for “The Thorn Shadow” ,it is a real landmark in plot,social,political,religious and cognitive issues that are neglected by scholars.
Lamine Saidi in this novel supports the poor who are the greatest admirers of land,glory and life.He asserts that defending those marginalized people means revival of humanism ,and end of evil,injustice and racism,which also implies that women become thinkers and active citizens in society rather than restricted to bodies only.
Besides,”The Thorn Shadow” makes of space and time as pathways to get rid of the old prejudice of classifying people according to their place of birth…
As a matter of fact,”The Thorn Shadow” is a realistic novel written in a pleasant artistic style and suggesting deep philosophical issues.
In addition,”The Women’s City” , a romantic and realistic novel ,is based on accurate description of scenes,similes and metaphors.This novel closely studies the psychological depths of individuals and groups.Hence,critics confirm that it is one of the world ‘s best contemporary literary masterpieces.Not only has “The Women’s City” been translated into many languages ,but also his novels entirely.
Lamine Saidi,the Tunisian novelist ,is born in Sidi Buzid, a governorate in the central part of Tunisia in 1983.He is a teacher of Arabic Language and Literature,a Master Degree Graduate of Civilization ,a member in the Tunisian Writers Union and a steady member in the Tunisian Authors Rights Institution.His fifth novel “I love Her Without Recall ” will soon be published.
